Stock futures edged higher in the early Monday hours as earnings season ramps up this week with the world’s most prominent companies like Bank of America, Johnson & Johnson, Netflix, Taiwan Semiconductor, UnitedHealth, Nokia, and Abbott Labs releasing their earnings.
Here are some of Monday’s biggest stock movers:
Biggest stock gainers
- Trump Media & Technology (NASDAQ:DJT) shares jumped 70% a day after former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania. Trump, who owns a majority stake in the Truth Social parent company, took the company public earlier this year through a blank-check merger, and the shares have been volatile since their debut.
- Crypto stocks surged on Monday as Bitcoin (BTC-USD) climbed above $63K, up 5%, following the attempted assassination of U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump, which increased the odds of the former president, a self-proclaimed cryptocurrency advocate, winning the upcoming election. Bit Digital (NASDAQ:BTBT) jumped 10%, MicroStrategy (NASDAQ:MSTR) climbed 9.4%, Cipher Mining (NASDAQ:CIFR) rose 5%, Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) gained 5.8%, Riot Platforms (NASDAQ:RIOT) increased 6.3%, Marathon Digital (NASDAQ:MARA) and TeraWulf (NASDAQ:WULF) advanced 7%.
