- Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) showed off a new Echo Spot alarm clock ahead of the tech giant’s Prime Day shopping event later this month.
- The new alarm clock, which retails for $79.99, can be purchased for $44.99 by Prime subscribers through July 17, the company said in a statement. Amazon Prime Day is slated to last between July 16 and 17th, Seeking Alpha has previously reported.
- Unlike the previous Echo Spot, which was announced in 2017, the new version has a display for users to check the time, weather and songs that are playing. It’s available in three colors: Black, Glacier White and Ocean Blue and is integrated with Amazon’s voice assistant, Alexa.
- Amazon has been working to upgrade Alexa with generative artificial intelligence and could launch an updated, paid version of the assistant later this year.
