- Funds managed by Blackstone (NYSE:BX) have closed on the acquisition of Village Hotels, an owner and operator of 33 hotels in the U.K., from affiliates of KSL Capital Partners, the acquirer said on Wednesday.
- The hotel company’s properties represent 4,400 hotel keys and operate as “all-under-one-roof” leisure destinations, offering traditional full-services hotel stays, fitness clubs, food and beverage outlets, and co-working spaces.
- Blackstone (BX) said it’s a “long-term believer” in the U.K. leisure sector. In 2021, the private equity firm acquired Bourne Leisure, owner of Haven Holiday Parks and Warner Hotels, a U.K. hotel chain that caters exclusively to adults.
- “We see great potential in lodging and leisure as a sector, especially where we can support strongly positioned businesses that deliver exceptional experiences to their customers,” James Seppala, head of Real Estate Europe at Blackstone (BX) said.
- Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
