Boeing (NYSE:BA) has informed some customers that deliveries of 737 Max planes due in 2025 and 2026 will be delayed even further by 3-6 months, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.
Some of the aircraft deliveries due next year have been pushed into 2026, the sources added.
The company declined to comment as it’s in a quiet period ahead of the release of its quarterly earnings report on July 31.
Boeing (BA) had recently delayed a key production milestone for 737 jets by three months amid continued supply pressures.
The aircraft maker has been grappling with intense regulatory scrutiny and production constraints after a midair door plug blowout of a 737 Max 9 in January.
These challenges are in addition to the industry-wide slowdown caused by supply chain disruptions and other headwinds. Rival plane-maker Airbus (OTCPK:EADSF) (OTCPK:EADSY) also pushed back a production target by two years, and cut this year’s delivery goal.
