- Former President and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump was whisked off stage from his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday after what sounded like gunshots rang out, according to media reports.
- The incident occurred at about 6:13 PM ET, a few minutes after Trump started speaking.
- In a statement, Trump said that he’s “fine” and being checked out at a local medical facility, the Associated Press reported.
- He was showing a chart of border crossing number during the rally when bangs began. Trump reached his right hand toward his neck, and there appeared to be blood on his face, the report said.
- Trump had ducked as security and Secret Service agents rushed the stage when the apparent shots were heard. He later got back up and pumped his fist at the crowd, which cheered.
- After Trump left, police starting vacating the venue, the AP said.
