The pan-European Stoxx 600 (STOXX) eased -0.2% on Monday with the majority of sectors trading in the red, as global investors assessed the impact of an assassination attempt on former U.S. President Donald Trump at a rally over the weekend. Household goods led losses, followed by banks.
On the corporate front, British luxury fashion brand Burberry (OTCPK:BURBY) Monday named Michael Kors boss Joshua Schulman as its new chief executive officer after a “disappointing” first quarter performance.
Coming up in the session: Euro Area industrial production coming up shortly, followed by Canada manufacturing sales and U.S. Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s speech later in the day.
In the bond market, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield was up 2 basis points to 4.21%.
Germany’s 10-year yield was down 2 basis points to 2.47%.
U.K.’s 10-year yield was down 1 basis point to 4.10%.
