Phillips 66 (NYSE:PSX) said Wednesday it completed the full conversion of its Rodeo Renewable Energy Complex in California, raising throughput rates to 50K bbl/day, or 800M gal/year.
The 128-year-old Rodeo plant stopped processing crude oil in February, and has been transitioning to producing renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel.
The Rodeo complex includes new pre-treatment units that process lower carbon intensity feedstocks such as used cooking oil, fats, greases and vegetable oil; it began producing ~30K bbl/day of renewable fuel at the end of Q1.
Phillips 66 (PSX) said the full conversion marks a significant step in its commitment to play a meaningful role in the energy transition and provide customers with lower-carbon solutions.
