- Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ:HOOD) is looking to offer cryptocurrency futures in the U.S. and Europe this year, a Bloomberg report stated, citing people familiar with the firm.
- “We have no imminent plans to launch these offerings,” a spokesperson of the firm said.
- The company is looking to use Bitstamp’s licenses to offer perpetual futures for Bitcoin (BTC-USD) and other tokens in Europe, the report stated.
- Last month, Robinhood Markets (HOOD) agreed to acquire Bitstamp, a global cryptocurrency exchange, for $200M.
- The report also said the company expects to list the BTC and Ether (ETH-USD) futures on the CME in U.S.
- Shares in HOOD were down 2.9%.
