- Sonic Automotive (NYSE:SAH) shares limped into the close nearly 3% lower after disclosing that the June 19 CDK cybersecurity hack will have a “material impact” on the company’s fiscal Q2 results.
- The company does not yet know, however, if the incident which adversely impacted vehicle sales from June 19, “had or is otherwise reasonably likely to have a material impact on the company and its financial condition,” Sonic Automotive said in a regulatory filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
- While access to the basic functionality of the dealer management system (DMS) has been restored, other affected systems, including the customer relationship management system and certain functions of the DMS remain offline.
- Sonic Automotive shares extended the regular session loss by another 0.25% in after hours trading.
