Pipedrive Launched Nova and AI Sales Pipeline Tools Just Changed Everything

Pipedrive just dropped a tool that might genuinely change how small sales teams operate. Nova, their new AI meeting intelligence feature, went live on September 16 and it does something surprisingly simple but incredibly useful. It listens to your sales calls, takes notes, and updates your CRM automatically so you can stop wasting an hour after every meeting typing up what just happened.

Here is why that matters for anyone managing a sales pipeline. Most reps spend between 30 minutes and an hour after each call updating records, logging action items, and syncing notes across tools. Pipedrive says Nova cuts that time to almost nothing. The Australian company Snug, which piloted Nova before launch, reported saving up to an hour per deal meeting. For a six-person sales team handling dozens of calls a week, that is a massive chunk of recovered selling time that goes straight back into revenue generating activity.

What Nova Actually Does

Nova operates in three phases that cover the entire lifecycle of a sales meeting. Before a call, it pulls together context from your CRM deal history, past emails, and previous conversations so you walk into the meeting knowing exactly where things stand. During the call, it records and transcribes the conversation in real time. After the call, it drafts CRM updates based on what was discussed so nothing falls through the cracks.

The key insight here is that Pipedrive is not trying to build an autopilot for sales. Joe Futty, their Chief Product and Technology Officer, said it plainly. Everyone in this category is trying to build an autopilot and he thinks that is the wrong direction. What actually helps a rep is not more automation. It is more confidence. Nova removes the busywork so reps can focus on the one thing they are actually paid to do, which is sell.

Salesforce Hunter Works the Pipeline Too

Meanwhile, Salesforce made a much bigger splash at Dreamforce 2026 with Hunter, an AI agent specifically designed to build sales pipeline over weeks and months rather than minutes. Hunter researches accounts, builds outreach sequences, qualifies leads, and even prepares presentations and proposals. Unlike most AI tools that handle a single task and stop, Hunter operates on a long-horizon runtime that keeps it working toward pipeline goals across multiple interactions over extended periods.

The numbers behind these tools tell a clear story about where B2B buying is headed. Forrester research found that 94 percent of B2B buyers now use AI somewhere in their purchase process, up from 89 percent last year. The same study found that generative AI has become the single most useful research source for twice as many buyers compared with any other channel, including vendor websites, product experts, or a company’s own sales representatives.

The Quota Problem These Tools Are Solving

Here is where the story gets uncomfortable for a lot of teams. Commsor’s 2026 Warm Intro Gap Report surveyed 1,305 sales leaders and found that only 23.6 percent of sales teams hit quota overall. Cold-outbound-heavy teams landed at 32 to 40 percent attainment. Teams that relied mostly on warm leads hit 55 to 65 percent. That gap is exactly what tools like Hunter and Nova are designed to close by automating the grunt work of top-of-funnel pipeline building.

Industry benchmarks paint an even starker picture. Reps selling mid-market deals between 25,000 and 100,000 dollars are landing in the 38 to 45 percent attainment range. Strategic account reps working deals north of 500,000 dollars are at 30 to 42 percent attainment according to recent benchmark compilations. These numbers suggest that the problem is not just about effort. It is about how that effort gets distributed across the selling process.

SaaStr founder Jason Lemkin shared something interesting in early September. His company runs 21 AI agents that have closed millions in revenue, but he said there still is not a good AI account executive. AI has clearly taken over prospecting and pipeline building work, but closing complex multi-stakeholder deals still requires human judgment and relationship building that no algorithm can replicate.

What This Means for Your Sales Strategy

If you are running a sales team and your reps are still manually updating CRM records after every call, you are leaving money on the table. Pipedrive Nova is available now and designed specifically for small and medium businesses that cannot afford to waste selling time on administrative work. For larger enterprises, Salesforce Hunter offers a more ambitious vision of AI that builds and nurtures pipeline autonomously over extended timeframes.

The common thread is clear across both tools. AI is not replacing salespeople. It is removing the obstacles that prevent salespeople from actually selling. Whether that means automating meeting notes, qualifying inbound leads, or researching accounts before outreach, the pipeline tools launching in September 2026 are making a strong case that the best use of AI in sales is getting out of the rep’s way and letting them do what they do best.

Start by auditing how much time your team spends on non-selling activities each week. If the answer is more than a few hours, tools like Nova and Hunter might be exactly the pipeline upgrade you have been looking for.
